Italian Trade Commission

Law 214/2011 established the "Control Room", an operational tool that helps to better coordinate Italy’s policies and strategies for fostering internationalization, promoting a common commitment and concrete action among different players: the government, local institutions and the business world. The Control Rooms serves to coordinate initiatives for promotion, analysis and market penetration and for the allocation of financial resources towards specific objectives.

The “Control Room” is co-chaired by the Italian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Economic Development and comprises the Minister of Economy and Finance; the President of the Permanent Conference for relations between the State, the Regions and Autonomous Provinces; the Presidents of – respectively - the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Handicrafts and Agriculture (Unioncamere), the Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), R.E.TE. Imprese Italia, and the Italian Banking Association (ABI). There are two associate Ministers: the Minister for Regional Affairs, Tourism and Sport and the Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Food Policies.

Through the Control Room, the Italian government intends to bring together around a single table the most important players in the process of internationalization and to provide the necessary coordination.
This integrated system is replicated abroad, where the coordination of the network of Italian institutions is ensured through the supervision and coordination of the Italian Ambassador.
