Entry of individuals, including those not living together, who have provided proof of a stable emotional relationship in

Pursuant to the DPCM of the 8th of September 2020, entry is allowed in the national territory in order to reach the residence of an individual referred to as the letters f) and h) of the DPCM of the 7th of August 2020 (http://www.governo.it/sites/new.governo.it/files/DPCM_20200807.pdf).

This includes individuals living separately, as long as there is a proven stable and emotional relationship. This emotional relationship refers specifically to couples and not relatives.

Those interested in applying for a visa—either as a tourist or a visit to family or friends—must make an appointment directly with the VFS Global Visa Center https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/ita/.

The following must be presented—in addition to the required documentation—for applying for a tourist/visit to family or friends:

1) A declaration of responsibility from the inviting individual on the established length and stability of the emotional relationship. In addition, they must submit a copy of a valid identification card;

2) A signed request for an accompanying consular note in order to facilitate the boarding process.

Those who are already in possession of a valid Schengen visa may obtain an accompanying consular note by making a request by email: visa.mumbai@esteri.it and must include an attachment with their passport copy, current visa, and the above-mentioned declaration of responsibility from the inviting person, on the length and stability of the emotional relationship, accompanied with a copy of a valid identity card.

When possible, it is advisable to return to Italy with a direct flight.

All applicants are reminded of the required 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Italy.

In reference to article 76 T.U. on the subject of administrative documentation, whosoever makes false statements is required by law to answer by crime of perjury pursuant of the criminal code, and of the special laws on the matter.

These provisions are applicable from the 8th of September, 2020 through the 7th of October, 2020.
