{"id":3865,"date":"2025-06-01T12:20:06","date_gmt":"2025-06-01T06:50:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consmumbai.esteri.it\/?p=3865"},"modified":"2025-06-17T17:34:49","modified_gmt":"2025-06-17T12:04:49","slug":"the-consulate-general-of-italy-in-mumbai-celebrates-the-italian-national-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consmumbai.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dal_consolato\/2025\/06\/the-consulate-general-of-italy-in-mumbai-celebrates-the-italian-national-day\/","title":{"rendered":"THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF ITALY IN MUMBAI CELEBRATES THE ITALIAN NATIONAL DAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The celebrations for the <strong>Italian National Day<\/strong> organized by the Consulate General of Italy took place on Friday May 30<sup>th<\/sup> at one of the Mumbai\u2019s most renowned establishment, the St. Regis Hotel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai commemorated the 79th anniversary of the Italian Republic, honoring its values of democracy, freedom, and unity established on the historic day of June 2<sup>nd<\/sup> 1946.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Consul General Walter Ferrara<\/strong> welcomed over 600 guests who took part in the celebration, including the main <strong>State authorities from Maharashtra<\/strong> as Chief Guest Shrimati Sujata Saunik, Chief Secretary of the Government of Maharashtra, the Consular Corps, representatives from the Italian and Indian business communities, as well as numerous Italian nationals residing in the jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The attendance of the crew of the <strong>frigate Marceglia<\/strong> was the highlight of the event. The frigate Marceglia, docked at the port of Mumbai, has proved Italy&#8217;s commitment to strengthening naval co-operation in the Indo-Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The support received from the Italian sponsors for the Republic Day this year has almost doubled compared to last year, indicating a growing and unified Italian business community, which is near the Italian institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c<strong>The Italian community here is proud to contribute to the development of Italo-Indian relations<\/strong> in the scientific, business, and cultural fields, in a context where commercial partnerships drive the innovation,\u201d declared Consul General Ferrara in his welcoming address. \u201cIn the spirit of \u2018Made in Italy, Make in India\u2019, many Italian firms thrive in the Pune district,\u201d Ferrara added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe presence of Italian companies in the state of Maharashtra, the largest among all Indian states, is a record\u201d highlighted by Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik in her speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The famous Bollywood actress <strong>Poulomi Das<\/strong> was the Master of Ceremonies. The evening featured a <strong>rich program of promotion<\/strong> of Italian excellences, beginning with our gastronomic tradition designed by Italian <strong>chefs Christian Huber and Alessandro Piso<\/strong>; a musical performance by the band <strong>Rynosax Trio<\/strong>, which played a repertoire of Italian, Indian, and international pieces; the showcase of some unmistakable symbols of Made in Italy: a Ferrari car and Piaggio Vespas.
