The website of the European Union has published the statistics of the Schengen Visas for the year 2013 relative to the Indian scenario, which show that the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai turns out to be – using the words of the very same Delegation – “the second most performing Visa office in India” (second only to the Swiss one) and the first among all countries in the European Union.
In 2013, the Consulate General has issued 38.992 Schengen Visas, reporting a 0.7% rise as compared to the year 2012.
In 4 years, the Consulate General in Mumbai has increased the number of visas by 20.88%, maintaining that positive trend, which was started in the 2000s.
This result proves how popular Italy is for the Indian population, as well as important in commercial terms.
