On August 25th 2025, Consul General Walter Ferrara concluded his mission in Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat.
First, the Consul had a fruitful meeting with Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi on bilateral strategic cooperation, following the recent signing of the Italy-India Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029.
The Consul General then visited the National Institute of Design, where he met with the director Dr. Ashok Mondal and discussed possible future events and collaborations between the Institute and leading design institutions in Italy.
He also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Jeet Adani, from the Adani Group, proposing future partnerships and collaborations with Italy in the context of IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor) as well as with the Adani Skill Development Centre.
Moreover, he visited the Indigo Art Museum, the world’s first institution dedicated to the color Indigo, a dye obtained from the leaves of the Indigofera plant. The museum celebrates the influence of this pigment on global trade and its value in art and cultural exchanges.
Finally, the Consul General concluded the mission with a visit to the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, which exhibits a collection of illustrated and unillustrated manuscripts, bronzes, cloth paintings, and various works of art and artifacts.
