25/09/2013 MUMBAI: INAUGURATION OF TH EXHIBITION – RESTORING IN ITALY

On the  25th September 2013 at 16:00 hrs.at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya,former Prince of Wales Museum in  Mumbai, the exhibition “Restoring in Italy. Art and technology in the Activities of the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione ed il Restauro” has been inaugurated in the presence of Daniele Mancini – Ambassador for Italy in India.
Patronized by the Embassy of Italy at New Delhi and the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai, and organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of New Delhi in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, Mumbai Section, this initiative  forms part of the  review promoted by the MEA and by the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities. The exhibition covered several aspects starting from  the conservation process, to the restoration of artistic heritage, the implementation of innovative technologies, an activity in which Italy has developed a particular perfection – something which is in great demand.
For the Inauguration which took  place at the Museum – Coomaraswamy Hall, there was also the Ambassador Mancini, the Consul General  Ugo Ciarlatani, the director of the Mumbai Section  of the Italian Cultural Institute Dr. Patrizia Gambarotta, the Lecturer of Italian Language at the University of Mumbai, Dr. Roberto Bertilaccio,  Prof. Anupam Sah, director of the Museum and Prof. Vidya Venkatesan, head of the French Department at the same University
