An evening dedicated to investment opportunities in Italy took place in Mumbai, with the participation of over 100 guests, including financial consultants, investment fund managers, top clients of commercial and industrial banks, young entrepreneurs, and students from the Bocconi Asia Center.

The event, part of the “Italian Aperitivo in Mumbai” series, actively involved all key players in the Italian system, with presentations and contributions not only from the Consulate General but also from ICE Agency, Chamber of Commerce, SACE, and ENIT. The evening unfolded in three phases: the first focused on investment opportunities, with particular attention to the tools offered by the Italian system in India; the second dedicated to national visa programs for investors and start-up entrepreneurs; and finally, a third phase dedicated to networking.

“We are pleased to see the results achieved with this initiative. We have built a cohesive team, and the Italian system operates synergistically. We have already received numerous expressions of interest in the investment opportunities presented. The possibilities offered by the investor visa are extremely competitive,” says Alessandro De Masi, Consul General of Italy in Mumbai.

Mauro Battocchi, Director General for the promotion of the Country System, added, “Everyone knows Italy as a cultural superpower, but not everyone is aware of its technological leadership in Europe. Italy is the second-largest manufacturing producer in the EU, with strong leadership in machinery, electromechanical equipment, and pharmaceuticals, as well as in high-tech sectors such as aviation, biotechnology, and space. Overall, Italy is among the top 3 global exporters in about 1000 product categories. All this makes Italy an attractive place to invest and live. With the ‘investor visa’ and ‘start-up’ visa programs, we aim to unleash the potential of foreign investment in Italy, which is still underutilized.”

Ambassador De Luca, in a video message, stated, “We are talking about a strategic partnership between Italy and India, which implies mutual trust in investments in key areas such as green industry, aerospace, and defense. A high level of political relations encourages our companies to invest in India and Indian companies to invest in Italy. Italy is a land of opportunities for investments.
