On August 22nd 2025, Consul General Ferrara inaugurated the exhibition “Jyot” (Fire) by Italian artist Roberto Rup Paolini at the “079” Gallery in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The exhibition, the first of its kind dedicated to Italian contemporary art, has fire as its central theme, a primordial element and a symbol of creation and purification.
The initiative, supported by the Consulate General, represents an important milestone in the cultural relationship between Italy and India. During the inauguration, Consul General Ferrara highlighted the deep bond between the two countries, marked by a millennia-long history of exchange.
“The fire, a primordial element of creation and purification, is an ideal bridge between our two traditions: this exhibition is more than a display, it is the beginning of a new artistic bridge,” stated Consul General Ferrara.
The exhibition is part of a broader cultural exchange project aimed at promoting direct collaboration between the “079” Gallery in Ahmedabad and the Casa degli Artisti in Milan.
The initiative, curated by Caterina Corni and Giulia Restifo, will continue in October with the visit of Indian painter Vipul Prajapati to Milan.
