Documents to be submitted
- Application for registration of the birth certificate (Download the updated form);
- The child’s birth certificate, issued by the competent authorities of the Indian State in which the child was born and legalised with an Apostille, duly translated into Italian (see list of recommended translators);
- Photocopies of the parents’ and child’s passports or valid identity documents (passport or Aadhaar card);
In addition:
- Certificate of Italian citizenship of the Italian parent, specifying the place, date and manner in which Italian citizenship was acquired, issued by the competent Italian Municipality;
- Historical certificates of residence issued by all Italian municipalities in which the Italian parent resided, for periods subsequent to the acquisition of Italian citizenship.
